The Song of Truth

Pass through the crowd of vapid eyes
Sealed lips drawn in a faceless smile
Bodies dripping with the only wealth
To be seen and talked of endlessly
Who is, is not, who has, has not
See pretence reign with envy high

Pass through the door of lies itself
Framework rotting with mould of words
Life broken, body now torn loose
To lay dead at our feet before us
Telling us the time has come
Passing through is now the answer

Pass through the crowds of hungry eyes
All sizes, colour, race and creed
Bodies dripping with the sweat of life
Steeped in joy, pain, sorrow, and love
Passage and parting hard to bear
Such blatant truth brings with it pain

Pass through the portal time itself
Breaking from these crucibles so weak
Temporal lords of this cosmic speck
Ripping away that which we know
The comfort moving words around us
So often twisted to hide what's real

Pass through the light to somewhere else
Nothing this world could ever tell us
Souls touching each other with new life
We leave those caught in onward spinning
Of the see, hear, feel, taste and smell
These are the things left far behind

Pass through the crowd of vapid eyes
Pass through the door of lies itself
Pass through the crowds of hungry eyes
Pass through the portal time itself
Pass through the light to somewhere else
Pass singing now the song of truth
