Sedate Me

Hollow Ones

No where to turn, no way to run

Here comes spring,
Bright eyes staring vacantly into nowhere -
Bright girl she is,

Oh joy, the hummingbirds
The message was clear

on we marched towards the sun
the songs we sang find place for pause
but all happiness must come to a halt,

mortal pain, this drunkened blur

Rain

I'm depressed
I am death, and you are dead
Sedate me,

You fear nothing, yet you fear us,
No where to turn, no way to run

The easy season's over in the summer city
In the millennium...

There she is
Hello! Are you there?
The parlance of the heart
The palace of the mind
To and fro
I must do this,
Delightful dream
In a sense we live two lives,
The orchard of love,
In the splendour of the sun
Tender is the night,
A simple word,
Benign is the eye,
Stress here, Stress there;
Days continue to pass by

The Song of Truth

Today I ran a thousand miles
Drifting in and out of unconscious sleep
I passed you in the crowd the other day
We gathered together

Flew home on a gibbous moon
Murky waters tinged with guilt
Wading barefoot into weeds years grown
A sharp twig within the nest
When late at night, and the world has died
My windows open, my door is wide
Awaking slowly before dawn
The caviar lays in its little jar
Waiting so long with patience to see
Pass through the crowd of vapid eyes
