For Scott…
Just a little later

I feel an incredible need to get far away tonight.
So far that this bleak nothing could ever measure the distance
Or find me again.

This now is just another black night filled with
Great cold empty space.

I remember nights filling my senses and your warmth
Drawing me deeper.

And you're gone now aren't you, fleeing this world
Leaving me behind.

I've been sad and angry and lost, trying to forget
And pushing too hard.

It seems no amount of life here could ever fill the void
Which you left me with.

Did you not know when you tossed your life aside
My heart would follow.

Just a little later.
