To attain the
recognition, the piece of paper
The fly swat,
the bird cage liner, the rubbish bag filler
It's taken so long,
I should have twenty pieces of paper by now
That's right, I
have. All marked uncomplete, Another paper to go
That's incomplete.

The final incomplete,
When will I stop
fooling myself that time stands still
And that there
will always be time to do another and another
It marches on,
remorseless in its path, notwithstanding the bumps
To the zenith
of life it straight lines through.
