Birds Like Bells

Birds like bells
On this morning
Of the final exam
Rinse kettle for ants
Stir porridge
So it doesn't overflow
Remember party at sixteen
2 boys had
the same slut
The first
Sat up all night
Shell-shocked
Boil water
My friend who liked coffee
In England now, maybe Mars
Teaching machines to think
Still dreaming of mining the moon
Where the birds must have gone
Or changed their voices to traffic
