Its torrent was so deafening
As silent as a roar
It held me at my mercy
Begging me for more
It said I'll never hear again
And threw me to the ground
Speech will give you silent words
Never hearing sound
But still I hear like you
though not what you'd expect
Not the same as what is heard
From common dialect
I hear the air that's all around me
Singing lullabies to sleep
Put me in a different place
This place I want to keep
The stars make special noises
Reaching out to me
Do you hear what I hear?
