Drowning
in the Ultra Violet
In numbing cascades
the alcohol streams
through the hyper
caffeinated
and eyes reveal
amphetamine dreams,
which saw the
world disintegrated.
The taste of exhumed
puppies lingers in my mouth,
domesticated back
yard corpses risen,
beaten blue and
petrol doused,
cuff me quickly,
drag me off to prison.
Biting me with
endless maybes,
the sting of Sol's
serrated tongue
has maddened me
with frothy rabies,
sapped the youth
from what was young.
So tell me, stargazing
friend,
will the universe
hold out until tomorrow
or has it been
wound to a cosmic end?
If so, return
the soul you borrowed.
Gravity is a harsh
mistress,
bridges burnt
and eyes gouged out,
all my theories
soon dismissed,
crippling intellectual
drought.
I'm swallowed by
nocturnal radiance,
I pluck the sky
from the stars,
blinking in the
lunar brilliance,
I cut myself and
kiss the scars.
